Water Supply Program
Clearly Canadian

Global Water and Clearly Canadian Beverage Company have joined together to develop safe water supplies in rural villages in Central and South America. We’re initiating the program with projects in Guatemala and Nicaragua this year (in 2006), but the program will be expanded to include other developing countries in the future.

Here is the Media Release describing this new program -

June 26, 2006, CLEARLY CANADIAN BEVERAGE CORPORATION announced today that it has partnered with Global Water, a U.S. based, non-profit organization committed to establishing safe water supplies in developing nations. Through corporate donations and upcoming fundraising events, Clearly Canadian and Global Water will finance and implement the creation of clean and safe drinking water systems in villages in Central America and South America.

"As a water based beverage company, we are truly honored to partner with Global Water and this fitting humanitarian initiative," stated Brent Lokash, President of Clearly Canadian. "Our company and our consumers are conscious of developing nations' basic need for safe drinking water and we're thrilled to be able to make a difference in the global community."

Lack of access to safe drinking water is the primary cause of hunger, disease and poverty in the world today. A WorldAid fact states that the number of people lacking access to safe drinking water worldwide is more than 1 billion - over 4 times the population of North America or roughly 20% of the global population.

"We are delighted to have Clearly Canadian join us in this initiative, aid in generating awareness for this vital cause, and helping to provide communities with this basic necessity of life," stated Ted Kuepper of Global Water. "Many communities, with assistance from Clearly Canadian, will have access to safe water for the first time in their lives."

Clearly Canadian's initial plans include funding Global Water to complete two water systems by the end of 2006, with the projects being in villages located in Guatemala and Nicaragua. The company has set a target of “2010” – to complete, by the year 2010, 20 new water projects and bring safe water supplies to over 10,000 people who do not currently have access to this essential part of life. Clearly Canadian looks forward to meeting its “2010” goal and to using this success to help bring awareness of the need for safe water supplies to the world's attention at the 2010 Winter Olympic games in Clearly's hometown of Vancouver, B.C.

Clearly Canadian Spokesman

What makes pro basketball star Steve Nash the perfect spokesperson for our company? Well, for starters, he grew up in British Columbia, Canada – the birthplace of Clearly Canadian – where he enjoyed our beverages as a teen.

As well, Steve shares our commitment to hard work, dedication and perseverance – a commitment that's earned him a list of honours longer than a Whitehorse winter: two-time NBA MVP , four-time NBA All-Star, Canadian Olympic Team Captain, and one of TIME magazine's "100 Most Influential People", to name just a few.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, Steve shares our desire to help others in need. Already, he's improved the lives of thousands of children through his charitable initiative, The Steve Nash Foundation. And now, in partnership with Steve, we will help communities in developing nations access safe, clean drinking water through the Global Water Program
